Just like mom fabricated! Here were my adjustments: one pound of hamburger instead of two (plenty), no onions (preference), no Parmesan cheese (bummer) and I make my own spaghetti sauce then I think that'south why my dish wasn't banal as some others were saying. (My suggestion would be to add Italian seasoning and some garlic powder/common salt) Also I didn't bake it in the oven, I merely poured it all into my pot and heated it up in there. That's not going to alter the flavor I don't think, it'southward only i less dish to make clean and because yes, that'due south how my mom did it ;)
05/24/2009
My family loved this recipe. It was fifty-fifty better the next 24-hour interval! The only matter I inverse is that I used one lb of hamburger and one lb of sweetness Italian sausage. I'll definitely make this again.
09/24/2012
Fantabulous, didn't change a thing and it was very proficient, will save this one.
05/11/2009
good. I made it with shredded chicken and added dry ranch dressing mix to the sour cream before calculation it to the other ingredients. I besides took the above advice and cutting the recipe in half. I would definitely make this over again. Squeamish to accept a change from traditional Spaghetti and sauce.
03/02/2010
Information technology's easy, it makes a lot, and information technology freezes well. I make the whole recipe and either carve up it into two 9x11 casseroles, or iv 8x8. I and so freeze some to give to friends or have on hand for later!
05/08/2009
Hmmm...non a whole lot of flavor, but very easy. I cut the recipe in half and all the same managed to fill a 9 x 13 pan, perhaps my pan isn't deep enough. I added some oregano, basil, and chopped fresh tomato plant when cooking off the beef & onion, and used whole wheat spaghetti, but even that didn't add enough interest for us to the overall taste. Don't know what else to add together...possibly some garlic, unlike cheeses...? It did hold together nicely when serving, and my two-year old wanted seconds, then this gets three stars instead of just ii.
04/24/2010
It was and then good! Altho, I halved the recipe in one-half, and only did 3/iv cup sour cream. Information technology was really good, I served it with bread and butter.
01/30/2010
This was good. My son said he liked it better than regular spaghetti. Its really rich. I cutting the recipe in one-half (we are a family of half-dozen) and still had leftovers. I would make again.
07/06/2009
I wouldn't call this the Best goulash but I'll get in again only because my v year old, iv yr old, and 22 calendar month old all gobbled it upwardly. They really liked it. It was okay in my opinion. I did one-half the sauce similar others suggested and I'thousand glad that I did considering it fit perfectly in my nine 10 13 dish. If you're looking for something a picayune different, give the recipe a endeavour.
11/29/2010
I added a couple cloves of minced garlic, used a whole onion and only needed one jar of spaghetti sauce. I added some basil and oregano and a glug of red wine to the sauce. Nosotros liked this, only nosotros liked another baked spaghetti recipe that used cottage cheese a petty better. This was a dainty base recipe for a hearty dinner that fed my three men well, with 2 extra lunches during the week for my hubby.
11/28/2012
This was wonderful! I browned my ground beef, till it carmelized, then added an onion, a large bell pepper and mushrooms. I used Paul Newmans sauce...YUCK!! it was pretty bad...so off I went to the spice cabinet trying to medico information technology up..italian seasoning, garlic powder and sugar..it was so bitter. I as well added some roasted garlic that I did this morning and gave it a sense of taste, pretty adept. I cooked it on the stove peak for several hours, information technology got nice and thick. So I added the sour cream and proceded with the recipe. Delicious!!! I used my Large glass casserole dish,I don't retrieve information technology would have fit in a 9x13.And so we take supper for the next couple of nights. Thanks for sharing.
03/25/2012
My family liked this. I used only one can of sauce but I added a pocket-sized tin of lycopersicon esculentum sauce and some seasonings. And I think I cooked my noodles a footling too long. I will brand this again.
03/eleven/2013
Piece of cake and a keeper.
04/18/2011
I will never make this recipe once more,as much every bit i added seasonings to brand information technology flavorful..the sour cream only wouldn't permit it! I will stick to regular spaghetti!
10/24/2010
Simple and very skillful.
12/xx/2009
Not what I expected. I gauge I should've cut the liquids by half. I used actress garlic, and spices. Just it had a bitter osur cream taste. I don't intendance for information technology. I should've just made regular spaghetti. It would've been faster, and tasted better.
10/x/2014
Groovy recipe to take to a family after a bro, death, etc. However, I add actress spices when making for my family to jazz information technology up a chip.
09/11/2012
This was awesome!!! My kids loves it :)
08/05/2015
This was very skilful! Some reviewers said it was too bland, and so I added some garlic powder and oregano to the beef and onions while browning (but I do that for most italian dishes anyway). Other than that, I made the recipe as written. I split information technology into ii 9x13 casserole dishes (gave one to a family friend) and just one of them was more than than enough for my family unit of 4 with enough of leftovers. My toddlers both loved information technology! I think this would be a nifty option for a big potluck or church function. You could probably fit it all into a big disposable foil lasagna pan (the 9x13 ones are deeper than your average 9x13 pyrex). We will definitely be making this recipe again.
03/06/2018
I was worried near calculation sour foam but did it anyway. It was delish! (I did not use fat free sour cream either). I also added 4 oz of cream cheese, 1/2 cup shredded parmesan, and i/4 cup of cubed butter to the hot pasta before combining it with the meat mixture which was 50/50 ground beef and ground Italian sausage.
07/eleven/2012
An like shooting fish in a barrel dinner. My husband loved information technology, my teenager said it was 'OK' which is high praise as he is a picky eater. As suggested by other reviewers, I added Italian seasoning and used a higher terminate pasta sauce (Gina Rispoli, Vodka flavor). I would brand it once again.
10/15/2010
This recipe was wonderful! My whole family loved it! It was like shooting fish in a barrel and fast!
04/04/2013
Made this recipe instead of regular spaghetti. Information technology was a large hit. Easy and delicious. I halved recipe and added a little more cheese. I didn't take sour cream so I used a little cream cheese instead and information technology worked fine. My son ate the left overs.... which he normally won't touch. Great recipe that may just replace spaghetti in this? house! Fyi...when I served it adjacent mean solar day I sprinkled a little fresh parmesan cheese over it and microwaved! Yum!
01/31/2013
This was so adept. I will forever make my spaghetti this mode.
10/02/2015
My hubby and I liked this and my picky son absolutely loved it, came back for thirds when he never even does seconds! My changes were minimal and based on what I had on hand, I topped it with fresh mozzarella (yumm) and halved the sour cream in which I had the full fat on hand. I also layered it instead of mixing it all together (sauce, noodles, cheese, repeat, end with sauce, topped with mozz). In the end information technology was too much to fit into my 9x13 so I mixed what was left and also made an 8x8. Both were very skilful.
08/13/2015
I really enjoyed this dish. Sour cream added a bit of tang. I added a piffling garlic table salt, pepper and crushed red pepper. I also cut the recipe and half, plenty for 2 people plus leftovers.
08/19/2015
this recipe does make a lot. (Yeah to leftovers) Only made it and it was delish. I used ii different flavors (jars) of spaghetti sauce. Had no problems with lack of flavor!
09/27/2015
spice up ground beefiness with italian seasoning
11/06/2016
The sour cream overwhelmed the flavor of the spaghetti sauce. I added more spaghetti sauce to compensate resulting in a looser texture. I as well added oregano, salt and a bit of saccharide. My family liked it and cleaned their plates, but I didn't like information technology at all and won't be making it again.
12/28/2014
Easy and anybody loves this!
10/01/2012
Wonderful!!! Tastes nifty and perfect for a decorated family unit. My kiddo's loved it!
03/18/2016
This is bland - I was in a hurry and I would add more herbs, some cayenne, etc to it in the future. Listen those who indicate out the HUGE amount the recipe creates; I used what I would normally apply to make spaghetti at abode, and it would have filled a 9x13 and a 9x9. My son and my BF and his dad LOVED this. They ate huge amounts. And then I will brand information technology again, but for a 9x13, I'd brand half the box of farfalle to mix with 1 lb basis beef (or Italian sausage), one jar Newman's Sock-A-Rooni, 8 oz sour cream, and about a cup of parmesan, i-2 C mozzarella. I added herbs, but I'd add wine and cayenne and/or red pepper flakes next time.
01/10/2015
Super easy & quick!! Perfect for a female parent of iii (teen, tween & infant) Thanks!!
01/18/2017
Next time I will try using 1 tin can of pasta sauce and i can of diced tomatoes and a little less cheese. Expert weeknight meal during the winter months.
08/13/2009
pretty skilful, but not whatever better than regular spagetti and non equally easy to make. If I put in the extra try I desire it to taste better than the original
07/23/2014

07/22/2015

10/nineteen/2018
Added sausage
09/03/2012
needs more sauce
x/13/2016
Total winner! Hubby and toddler loved it. My modifications: made it with basis turkey instead of beefiness. And I seasoned the turkey with table salt, pepper, crushed red pepper and garlic powder. As well, I used minced onions by McCormick. I drained the spaghetti and and so put it back in its pot where I combined everything. This makes A LOT and it would have been too much to combine everything in the skillet I browned the meat in. I totally disregarded the bit about covering with foil to bake. Only I'chiliad glad I did considering it allowed the tiptop to crisp upwards a piffling, which we all actually liked. This is going in the meal rotation!
04/20/2013
This was a big hit this night! I added some minced garlic, oregano, and chopped meatballs to the hamburg/onions and only used one jar of marinara sauce. Information technology was delicious. I will definitely be making this again. This would be great to take to a potluck, sick neighbour, etc.
10/29/2016
Awesome! Fabricated a half size with leftovers. First-class!!!
01/17/2014
I made this tonight, while very proficient I agree with at least one other who said it was bland...IMO, only a piffling tho....my married man said he added a trivial red pepper and told me it was fantabulous, and so all said I would say endeavour it...I will make it again and but add together a fiddling rut! Thank you for the recipe!
06/xviii/2018
My husband & I liked it. My ii year old loved it! I only fabricated half the recipe. I too added a lilliputian garlic salt. Will make again!
01/26/2019
Next fourth dimension I will cutting back on the cheese just a niggling. Other than that I will definitely make this once again.
09/14/2017
I loved this goulash. I had some leftovers and it got even ameliorate the 2nd time around.
11/09/2018
Fabricated it the same as recipe except I added a teaspoon of Italian spice and 1/2 teaspoon of chilli peppers for a flake of a seize with teeth. Everyone loved it !!! Will definitely be making this once more.
11/ten/2019
I added a mix of mozzarella and cheddar. I also added more vegetables (bell peppers and mushrooms) and chopped pecans on top for a little crunch. The merely thing I volition omit next time is the sour cream, information technology gave it more than of a taco taste rather than spaghetti. Information technology makes a lot!! Then if you're feeding less than 4 people, I would half the meat and sauce.
01/xxx/2022
I added chopped green peppers and garlic. On the top I cut frozen Italian meatballs in half
02/01/2015
I substituted whole wheat macaroni elbows for the pasta because that is what I had and ane pound of basis beefiness instead of 2. I will endeavor it next time with the spaghetti just volition continue to use only i pound of the beefiness. Worked out not bad! My family liked it.
04/29/2016
This was corking to use upwards leftover noodles and sauce. I used cheddar/jack shredded cheese and Italian seasoning besides as dehydrated onions. I did not add meat since nosotros had some meatballs in the sauce. I too put in less cheese than called for and put pepperoni splices on top. My whole family loved it!!!
04/21/2021
This was very adept! I had to make a few changes due to what I had on hand. Instead of spaghetti, I used a 16oz box of Rigatoni, just one jar of sauce and 8oz sour foam. Turned out perfect!
06/16/2015
I made few changes used alfrado sauce ground turkey ruddy sauceon side
10/01/2019
Information technology was good. Quick and easy. Sour foam was expert. Also tried cream cheese and that was practiced to.
01/02/2013
This is really good and very like shooting fish in a barrel. My go-to meal is usually spaghetti, and I was so happy to accept found this recipe because its a neat change of pace but nonetheless a home run. The simply thing I changed was that I used shells instead of spaghetti noodles (it'due south all I had!) but I'm really glad I did, because scooping and serving was piece of cake.
x/25/2017
AHHHHMAZZZING!!! Dear LOVE Love!!!! Want to add though information technology states towards the tiptop of the recipie where it has the prep and directions and instructions a Melt time of 55 Minutes! It's not 55 minutes. every bit y'all await down further in the directions towards the eye or bottom information technology says xxx minutes! O also put my own twist on information technology! rather than putting and making a spaghetti mixture. I put the sauce, meat, sour cream etc. into its own mixture. And and so I did a sauce layer, noodles, cheese and layered information technology like lasagna. Information technology turned out great!
05/twenty/2020
My family and I did not like this.
08/01/2013
I but finished making this, but I sauteed one bell pepper, half onion and added ane pack of lipton onion soup mix along with garlic pulverization, shredded mild cheddar and my own seasonings. It was pretty good, however a little bland, but I'd brand it again considering my kiddo's loved information technology! So, cheers !
09/06/2018
I've made it twice and the 2nd time I but added half the sour foam and we all like information technology better
06/02/2018
I used 1 bottle of spicy Italian sauce and ane 4 cheese flavored and but used 1 lb. of ground beef. It was delicious. It made plenty for two casseroles, so I threw one in the freezer for a quick weeknight meal. It's a keeper.
04/24/2018
This was actually good! I used one pound of footing beef and half a pound of mild footing sausage. Side by side fourth dimension I will apply more sauce but this is a keeper!
03/12/2018
This is a good and easy recipe. I cut this recipe in half to make. I almost gave it 4 stars only because I did find it ameliorate to add i 8 oz. tin can of tomato plant sauce - otherwise, was a tad dry out of the oven. Only, giving it a five-star because to me the sour cream addition actually gives information technology a great taste! Would make this again!
06/27/2020
This is becoming a family favorite. It's forgiving if we are lacking a fiddling flake of ane ingredient, and it is succulent equally leftovers, likewise.
08/09/2018
Succulent! Nosotros subbed plain Greek yogurt for the sour foam and y'all would have never known. So good! 2nd time, I fabricated this with dairy free yogurt and mozzarella cheese and it was fifty-fifty more crawly!
12/30/2015
Put lots of spices such as used in spaghetti. Recipe made entirely too much sauce so I reduced the meat to one lb. wasn't too impressed with this recipe since it was basically spaghetti.
07/21/2018
I halved the recipe as some others did. I also added chopped zuchini and some additional Italian seasoning to the sauce. Came out perfectly. I will definitely make this i once again.
02/10/2020
I followed the communication of others and divided in one-half (except for cheese and spaghetti). I contradistinct this recipe by whisking together ii eggs and one cup of whole milk and stirring the mixture into the cooked spaghetti. So, I added the ground beefiness mixture from this recipe into the spaghetti mixture I concocted. I mixed eveything thoroughly, and poured into the prepared casserole dish. DELICIOUS!
07/31/2020
This was good. I did brand a couple changes. one. I added fresh minced garlic and fresh tomatoes to my meat. 2. I added meatballs 3.I added asiago and pecorino cheese four. I added mushrooms I besides like my cheese a little crisp and so after baking I used my broiler on low to crisp the cheese a chip. I had zero left of this meal.
12/04/2012
Easy and delicious :-) served with garlic breadstuff :-)
08/x/2017
Great plow out!
01/04/2017
I used chicken breasts and grilled them w/ Italian seasoning and garlic... so chopped it up and added instead of beefiness. Covered on 375 for about 20 mins then took off encompass sprinkled some fresh basil on top and then cooked for about another 10 mins (uncovered) to make a crust on pinnacle. Very tasty. Dandy dish for calendar week night cooking for the whole family to bask.
05/17/2022
I made a depression-carb version of this using ZOODLES and it was very delicious! The sour cream really adds a dainty creaminess to the dish. Yum!
12/07/2020
I made this for my family unit and they loved it. I added some garlic and Italian seasoning.
04/05/2017

03/11/2014
Just the wife and I at home at present then I cutting the recipe in half like some others suggested, and it yet about filled our cooking dish to the top. It really turned out awesome considering I am a total rookie in the kitchen. I used sweet Italian sausage(wife's favorite)in place of footing meat. My wife and I loved it. The simply thing would exercise different next time is go with heavier portion of meat; otherwise the best spaghetti dish I have ever fixed.
10/xviii/2017
This was a nice alternative to spaghetti and meatballs. I used 1 lb chopped meat and ane pound Italian sausage, sautéed them with onion and 2 cloves garlic and added them to my own sauce (ii lg cans crushed tomatoes, oregano, parsley, basil, salt, pepper and a small bit of carbohydrate) and allow it simmer for a couple of hours. Otherwise followed recipe exactly and everyone raved nigh information technology and wanted the recipe. I'm just giving 4 stars since I made some alterations to make information technology more flavorful - but with changes, definite five. Thanks!
09/x/2019
Nifty recipe. I used ane lb of beef and ane lb of deer. Instead of sour cream I used ricotta. I also added extra sauce (marinara). Great basic recipe with room to tweak.
12/22/2018
Excellent recipe for a quick meal that is flavorful and satisfying. Second time i fabricated this i cutting all measurements in half except cheeses. Nevertheless made more than than enough for four adults.
01/23/2018
Very yummy! The whole family loved it. And information technology was quick and easy which means I loved information technology likewise ;) It will become a regular staple of our menu.
03/27/2016
I made this but I'd recommend calculation a little more than spice and I replaced the basis beef with Italian spice sausage.I found it to be a little apparently.I added breadcrumbs and mozerella/Cheddar on top to give it a more than "casserole" look :)
03/xiii/2018
Very tasty and like shooting fish in a barrel. Honey information technology
02/27/2018
Tasty, but too oily. Next time I will cut the butter waaay dorsum.
06/03/2019
Great recipe - needs A LOT OF CHEESE. Needs more sense of taste. Only fairly ok
03/06/2019
Most excellent! Family unit favorite now. Didn't stray from the recipe, made it exactly how it is stated.
06/18/2019
Loved it - agree with another reviewer - 1 pound of meat is enough - added fresh garlic - used one jar puttanesca sauce (Black olives and capers) and one jar arabiatta (red pepper kick) - also used footing turkey which was fine - simply had 12 ounces sour foam so substituted 4 ounces cream cheese - don't recommend - used Sargento anile and shaved parmesan - really good - used whole wheat pasta - was good
09/16/2014
This was easy and not bad tasting. I had to sub mayo for the sour cream (didn't have enough sour cream on hand and did non desire to mix the ii and so I just used all mayo) no onion (sense of taste), merely everything else was added as directed. Will make this again and freeze half for later.
05/08/2018
Absolutely dear it! Plenty of leftovers when feeding four and is an like shooting fish in a barrel recipe to follow!!
03/17/2020
Vey Good Recipe, I Add Pepperoni And Cheddar Cheese. Delicious!
10/13/2018
I usually make the other baked spaghetti recipe which everyone loves. I hadn't made it in a while handmade this recipe in fault. I didn't tell anyone. They loved it, although they did say it tasted different. I told them about the mixup. Some liked this better some liked the other but they all loved either. Fabricated exactly equally written.
10/ten/2016
I prepared but like the directions yet I added link sausage cut up
08/05/2015
so yummy! used ground turkey instead and we all dear it
05/02/2018
I thought this was okay. If I were to make it again, I think I would apply a different pasta....farfalle perchance. I would likewise add in some red pepper flakes to give it a kick.
01/07/2020
I have made this numerous corporeality of times. All the same, I've used cream of mushroom soup instead of sour cream. I do employ Italian seasoning. My family loves it.
07/30/2016
Awesome recipe????!!!!
01/fourteen/2017
I used ane# of basis italian sausage, 8oz noodles, 23oz of jar sauce, 8oz of light sour cream and everything else the aforementioned. Still filled a 13×ix" pan. Very creamy and deliscious. Heated up great for leftovers.
09/06/2016
This wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. I omitted the meat and loaded the meridian with veggies (mushrooms, tomatoes and greenish olives). The sauce is ok, but fairly banal. If you want something similar but far tastier, attempt spaghetti pizza I.
07/11/2013
Awarded for iv stars for inspiring my traditional spaghetti dish into a casserole of yum and then some! I omitted sour foam. Added more seasonings and produce to impart more flavor. My additions included: crushed garlic, scallions, sliced greenish and reddish peepers, a single stabbed scotch bonnet pepper (in homemade spaghetti sauce), oregano, basil, etc. I am big on flavor! Thanks for sharing.
09/06/2015
I enjoyed this recipe. I added a few more than seasonings to the ground beef (garlic powder, oregano, basil, and parsley). I also also needed well-nigh half the sour cream noted in the recipe. Overall very delicious!
